Yesterday, I did two spot treatments on commercial properties. Whew!! I am tired. Winter sure allows one to get out of shape! I drilled 80 feet vertically and 40 feet horizontally between the two jobs. Each took about two hours, but it felt longer. Both properties had swarming termites.
Today, I hope to hear back from another commercial property regarding swarming termites. Also, I have an appointment with a homeowner because they think they might have a termite issue. You have to love those termites; only is you are a pest control operator, of course.

Termite Swarms are on the rise
I am eating lunch after I just finished a termite treatment at a fitness center. All went well. The termites swarmed last week, twice, and are still active. Now that I treated them with Termidor, they will die. As I was treating, a man working out asked me about termites. It turns out that he is a veterinarian and his office has two termite swarms today. He asked me to go look and price the termite treatment. I did and now I am waiting to go to Alpharetta to treat another termite swarm at a private prep school. There, they have two spots where termites have swarmed. It is a busy termite swarm day. Spring in not officially here, but do not tell the termites.

Termite Swarm
Has Spring 2011 begun? I would say so! I went out today to service a private school for general pest control. They usually have be out once a year to do a pest control service. Of course, we go on the weekend when there are no children. The school's owner indicated that they had some flying insects in their classroom. When I went out today to do the pest control service, the director showed me the classroom. I found two small exit holes on the window base. As I went through, doing the pest control service, I came into the library. There I found another swarm of termites. This time there were swarmers and wings all over the place. I have advised my client that a termite treatment need to take place in order to properly treat for the termites.
Note to all......if you do not have your home protected against termites, than you are waiting for disaster! In this situation, the school is lucky that the termites swarmed. Swarming termites are an indication that there is a problem. It is when you do not have termite coverage and there is not swarm when your home maybe eaten up without your knowledge.

Termite Season. It is already here!
Do not wait until you think you have a termite problem before you call an exterminator. If you do not currently have termite control for your home in the Atlanta area, you must call A S K Exterminators for help!
Last year, I was called to inspect a home in Canton for termites. It was June of 2010. I inspected and gave them a price for treatment. At that time, there were no signs of termites. Unfortunately, they were not able to pay for termite control service and had to put it off.
This year, that same person called me last month to initiate the treatment. I met her at the house, walked around and explained the treatment process. As we were walking, I saw a 4 inch X 4 inch post, a foot in length, lying against her foundation. I tried to remove the post, but only half of it came away. It was infested with termites and they were chomping down.
Because our weather was fairly warm, recently, termites are starting to show up. Do not wait! Call A S K Exterminators for your free termite inpsection and start protecting your home against termites in the Atlanta area.
